Jeffersonville, Ind. (August 1, 2016) ? Paul Hemmer Company has begun excavating the site that will be home to a 600,000 sq. ft. speculative distribution facility at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville, Ind. The building, which will be called Gateway 600, is being built as a double-loaded distribution facility, with docks on both sides. It is being built in response to increased demand in the market area.
Currently experiencing a period of rapid growth, River Ridge Commerce Center is a world-class business and manufacturing park with 6,000 prime acres under development in the Midwest’s top-ranked business environment. The Commerce Center is a high-profile location with large parcels of land along the Ohio River and access to major interstate highways. It is close in proximity to the Greater Louisville, Ky. metropolitan area. River Ridge was formerly the site of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, which manufactured gunpowder during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. (See www.riverridgecc.com)
This is Paul Hemmer Company’s third project with Kansas City-based VanTrust. The companies previously collaborated on a distribution center and tenant finish in Grove City, Oh., and are currently collaborating on the Park 536 project in Independence, Ky.
“We are very pleased to be working with Hemmer again and excited about River Ridge,” said Andy Weeks, executive vice president for VanTrust. “VanTrust has also partnered with Kevin Grove of CBRE for the leasing.”
Construction of Gateway 600 at Jeffersonville is expected to be completed by early 2017.
