VanTrust Real Estate selected Paul Hemmer Company to oversee the design and construction of GE Aviation’s On Wing Support Center. The facility is located near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and was constructed to meet the growing demand for its engine repair services, with a focus on state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a crane system, high bay warehouse, and comprehensive environmental controls.
Key Features:
Crane System: A robust crane infrastructure has been incorporated into the building’s design to facilitate efficient material handling and operations. This system includes multiple cranes with various capacities, allowing for smooth movement of large components throughout the facility. Structural accommodations are integrated into the design to support this essential feature.
High Bay Warehouse: The facility features a high-bay warehouse with a clear height ranging from 32 to 36 feet, maximizing vertical storage capacity. This layout is optimized for large equipment and vehicle access, including a reinforced concrete floor capable of supporting heavy machinery and vehicles.
Environmental Control Systems: Advanced environmental control systems ensure a safe and efficient working environment. These include LED lighting, an ESFR sprinkler system for fire protection, and HVAC systems designed to maintain consistent indoor temperatures, particularly in the warehouse, where temperatures must remain stable. Additionally, the facility features specialized ventilation systems to manage chemical exposure and other manufacturing byproducts.
The project also incorporates modern office space, meeting rooms, and break areas to support the workforce, while adhering to GE’s rigorous standards for safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
